Dear Future
8th Grader
Welcome to the Groundhogs team!are a few tips for the four core classes.
Language Arts (Mrs. Covington):¡¡ Don¡¯t really need to work that hard. Just chill. Pay attention to what¡¯s going on and you¡¯ll do fine. And when you are assigned to read a book be extra careful with quotations because that¡¯s what she mostly gives us on a quiz. Get down all quotes for the day keep them neat in one notebook they can earn you easy credits. Free writes; don¡¯t worry if you can¡¯t finish them in class. Take the journal home; sometimes it works better when no one is around. ¡¡¡¡Science (Mrs. Relyea)¡¡ OKAY¡Ms. Relyea is very nice. But like¡sometimes she¡¯s a little too strict. So prepare yourselves. After the bell rings DO NOT touch any of your homework papers don¡¯t even bother to write your name or any additional things. Because she might think you didn¡¯t do your homework and out you go to timeout. = =. When you¡¯re in class don¡¯t you dare talk when she¡¯s talking no eye contacts either and I mean it. When she hands you materials don¡¯t touch anything until she had said so. Keep good notes and before tests I still prefer going back to the text book for more info.
Geometry (Mr. Batterson) ¡¡ Mr. Batterson teaches both Algebra& geometry. I don¡¯t know much about algebra though. But Geometry is pretty easy in the beginning but can get real tough later in the year. Always keep good notes; you have to be quick at it too. If your grades aren¡¯t that great do the puzzles of the week like crazy. Some are extra difficult but you can get help from any one. ¡¡¡¡Social Studies (Mrs. Loehfelm)¡¡ In addition to the basic class notes she also gives us lotz of flex to do for credit. We hardly have any daily homework. But sometimes we have essays and notes on NC text book for homework. Always bring your notes to class keep them ORGANIZED date your notes or put them in order because you never know when she gives you a quiz that is half open-noted.¡¡¡¡That¡¯s all my advices. ¡¡Best luck for next year. Cus you¡¯ll need it.
